Caring for the Chronically Ill
Bryan Mullen, CIO of Nurtur, a Casenet client, is featured in the July issue of Health Data Management on how technology is being used to improve the treatment of chronic medical conditions, aid patients in taking a larger role in managing their conditions and help prevent the onset of chronic diseases.
Commenting on the effects Nurtur is seeing with the use of Casenet's disease and case management applications, “The most important result of the tests so far is getting a comprehensive view of the members we serve,” Mullen says. “Our clinical staff can see all the information we manage, such as eligibility, medication histories, gaps in care and care plans. Although the information was previously available, there wasn’t a consolidated view so our clinicians often would get a disjointed view.”
